How Can a Painful Bruise On The Thigh Be Treated?

I got punched very hard on my outer upper left thigh about a month ago. It bruised and had a knot on it it was painful but a couple weeks after it started hurting even worse. Now it hurts so bad to walk and laying in certain positions. It hurts deep in my upper thigh. I was hoping it just neededore time to heal but people have me freaked out about blood clots.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi, I had gone through your question and understand your concerns.
I dont think this is related to leg thrombosis since it would go with pain, leg swelling and pale colour of leg with tender skin. However, this may be hematoma formed under the skin or there was partial muscle rupture so in every case it would be good to do muscle ultrasound to see if there is rupture of muscle . You can apply heparin gel and take painkillers till that. Also, keep leg elevated any out elastic stockings if you have. It should improve your symptoms within few days. But ultrasound is definitely recommended.
. I hope I have answered your query. Wish you good health.
